Pot may be legalized in Nevada
A campaign to legalize marijuana in the state of Nevada has just begun. Of course, federal law will overule the state law, much like in the Denver case, but we’ll take symbolic victories.
A campaign to legalize marijuana in Nevada begins Tuesday. The Committee to Regulate and Control Marijuana wants to make it legal for adults 21 and older to use marijuana in the privacy of their own homes.
They also want to set up a system where marijuana can be sold and taxed in smoke shops. Now the group will try to convince Nevadans it’s a good idea.
Voters will decide on the group’s initiative on the November 2006 ballot. Nevadans defeated a similar ballot measure in 2002

I think that it is rediculous. Prohibition fell through for Drinkers and since there are millions of people that have died either directly or indirectly to Alcohol. You don’t even have to drink a drop to be a victim. Not to mention the deaths caused by the “legal drug” that is supported by Brainless idiots. These drugs alone have caused so many deaths and people seem to be just laughing it off. “Oh well it’s the individual right to smoke “cigs” and drink” When will this Navada thing will wake up the rest of the Nation! I know I will be the first to fight for this to pass in whatever state I choose to live in.
GOOD LUCK NEVADA!

Legalize It! Legalizing it means a safer and cleaner community for everyone. When weed is kept illegal it is dangerous, because it is not regulated by any health code, so assholes will spray your shit with paraqwat to fund their political agenda and lysol to make their cheap shit smell better, and that type of shit gives you all sorts of problems. How dare this government and brainwashed citizens support this morbid war against weed that makes a safe herb dangerous by putting it in the hands of solicitors that have no penalty for spraying your weed with cleaning chemicals. These issues are kept silent due to illegal transactions. No one can prevent cannabis smoking by the young, the young are rebellous and experiemental discovering themselves. So if you cared about the youthyou should care that if they smoking weed thats illegal it could be sprayed (50% chance), which makes it more dangerous then meth(yet when untreated it is safer then coffee) Anyone who really cares should support full blown legalization and a 21 and up requirement. The medical pass is not enough!!!

That is great, I know many people that follow bands around on road tours. Nevada has always been known as one of the most unfriendly places as far as marijuana laws are concerned. The irony of sin city having the strictest laws of all the states regarding marijuana really doesn’t even need to be mentioned.

Everyone already knows it should be legal in every state and it was in Alaska not too long ago. President Nixon and President Carter both had campaign announcements that they would legalize it if elected, that didn’t happen. Look at the way the government tricked voters into making us vote to make it illegal, Mexicans with super strength and blood lust (it was an ad in the 30’s). Everyone go out and watch IMAX’s “The History of Marijuana” right now. I have 3 things to say, Overgrow the government, free Marc Emery and LEGALIZE IT NOW!

I think if this law was passed, it would be the greatest thing to happen to our Country in many years! The amount of money each state could profit off the sale of this would not only cause tax rates to go down… but it wouldn’t have to be so hidden! Pot is a great GOD given herb and there shouldn’t be any reason not to legalize it! I urge residents of Nevada to vote YES!!! Once it goes for Nevada… it’s only a matter of time before every other state passes the law! LET’S GO NEVADA… MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!!!!

I don’t see what’s wrong with leaglizing marijuana. I mean it you sell it in a smoke shop, you are most likely it getting without having it mixed with something else that will really harm you. There are people that use it for medical reasons, so I’m wondering, if you smoke marijuana now, will you get the medical problems that are cleared up by smoking? I say yes to making marijuana legal.

I don’t believe its even an issue. What does it matter the going ons of responsible adults in their home; as long as it does not impede any other person from life, liberty. I don’t care what you do, don’t worry about me - I’m fine.

I recently heard about this proposal to legalize marijuana in Nevada. I cannot believe that we were unable to have a voter turnout to get this proposal passed. All I have to say is that we have to start somewhere. Once one state actually passes a proposed bill to legalize marijuana, maybe the rest of the country will wake up and take a stand for a person’s right to choose whether or not he or she wants to use this drug. It is time to forget the hysteria and propaganda the United States Government tries to make us believe about the side effects of marijuana. It is a bunch of wives’ tails used to make us do as they want. The true story is that it is more profitable for them to keep it illegal. Let’s take a stand and keep fighting for the proposition until we get what we want. Remember, it is a government for the people and by the people. WE CONTROL THE GOVERMENT, not the other way around.
